Cultural Property, Creativity and Indigeneity in Bolivia explored alternatives to existing intellectual property regimes.

The project, funded by the National Science Foundation and co-directed by Henry Stobart together with Michelle Bigenho (Colgate University, USA), produced the web resource Rethinking Creativity, Recognition and Indigenous Heritage (2014). This incorporates a range of materials aimed at generating wider discussion on cultural property issues elsewhere.

The web resource is based on a workshop held in Coroico, Bolivia, with 20 participants involved in various areas of Bolivian culture and media, including some of indigenous backgrounds. The workshop aimed to open up civil society discussions on issues of cultural property, with a group of individuals who were not usually in dialogue with one another
