Professor Rosie Meek has co-edited a newly published book (with Matt Maycock of the Scottish Prison Service and James Woodall of Leeds Beckett University), titled Issues and Innovations in Prison Health Research, released under the Palgrave Studies in Prisons and Penology series (the same series that published Professor Meek’s previous 2016 co-edited text, ‘The Voluntary Sector in Prisons’).

As well as co-editing the text, Professor Meek has co-authored three of the book’s 14 chapters, including one with her previous PhD student Dr Anita Mehay, which focuses on their work exploring and supporting health literacy for young men in prison. The book also features a chapter authored by our Visiting Professor Alison Frater on prison health and the arts, and commences with a foreword from the Department’s Professor Nick Hardwick.

Here is a link to the book on the publisher's site.
