The unique strength of our community in the department is that it brings together so many exceptionally talented people of different backgrounds, interests, experiences, methodologies and perspectives in a subject mix which is stimulating and special in legal and social science education.
We are a new School, built on strong traditions in the College in Criminology, Psychology and Sociology and we have excellent links in the world of criminal justice and forensics, and a commitment to making a difference in society.
Our inter-disciplinary school offers a number of undergraduate degrees in Law, Criminology and Sociology, and Criminology and Psychology, in addition to Masters degrees in Forensic Psychology and Social Work, Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism and Policing and Criminal Justice Policy.
We have a strong reputation for excellence in research and teaching, with national and international recognition of our expertise in issues associated with law, criminal justice, youth, health, multiculturalism and identity and being one of the largest providers of continuous postgraduate social work training in the South East, we also have a wealth of expertise in social work and health research.
